Come and join our Kinder Communities and #32Steps to Togetherness celebration in Peterborough!
You’re invited to a fun, uplifting celebration of our initiatives Kinder Communities and #32Steps. The event will provide an opportunity for social action and faith-inspired leaders to socialise; share experiences; and learn from sector experts.
Civil Society Consulting CIC is hosting this event at Peterborough Gallery and Art Museum in association with the East Timorese Association Peterborough (ETAP) — our long term collaborators and whose chairperson, Celso Oliveira is a member of our Lived Experience Reference Panel. CSC Directors Francesca Godfrey and Mark Ereira-Guyer will be co-leading the event with Celso.
In the first part of the event, we’ll be hearing from keynote speakers Zara Mohammed (Muslim Council of Britain) and Iain Stewart (Edinburgh Interfaith Association) on the power of grassroots action and tackling hate crime. We will be joined by National Lottery colleagues, including Heidi Haxeltine (London, South-East & East Team). Local Conservative MP, Paul Bristow has been invited (TBC).
We will also be showcasing the work of community organisations that have participated in Kinder Communities working in Peterborough and across the UK such as East Timorese Association Peterborough, Excel Women’s Centre, The Lantern Initiative, Living Keys, The Raham Project, PARCA (Peterborough Asylum & Refugee Community Association), Ubuntu Multicultural Centre CIC, and Awakening Minds CIC.
After lunch, sector experts will deliver hands-on training sessions on relevant topics for community organisations such as income generation, filmmaking and podcasting.
We will share information on our national initiative #32 Steps to Togetherness, including demonstration projects: Women for Togetherness – Leadership Development programme; ‘Think Well’ Group coaching for community leaders; and the Togetherness Poetry Challenge.
